Spring Porch Refresh & Bunny Wreath

Let me tell you two things about Georgia in the spring. One, it gets warm early here so that means that putting spring decor on the porch can happen almost as soon as Valentine’s Day is over! Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration.

Two, after you spend all the time and energy to clean off the porch after the winter doldrums, the green Georgia snow starts falling from the sky. Green Georgia snow?! Yep! That’s what we affectionately call the pollen that falls this time of year from the millions of pine trees that grace our state. Oh yeah, and it falls for like a month!

I mention all of that just to say, the porch might look great right now, but tomorrow morning it will be covered in a nice coating of lime green.

Regardless, I decided that now was the time to get out the flowers and spring-ify the front porch.

I started by cleaning everything off and starting with a blank slate. I added my chippy green window that is usually a staple on this old desk. A simple floral wreath and a large mason jar filled with more flowers finished up this area.

I found this green buffalo check rug as well as the coir rug from Hobby Lobby. Just wait for them to be half off, and the prices are great! Layering rugs is a great way to get extra color, fill a larger area, and add more texture.

Then I pulled out several of my vintage buckets, and planted some flowers. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep them alive until Memorial Day!

But the star of the show is this sweet bunny wreath! I found the wire bunny form at Dollar Tree, and I immediately knew what I wanted to do. Watch the quick video below to see the process. There aren’t a lot of details, but it’s pretty self-explanatory. I just used some ribbon that I already had on hand–nothing special. The only thing I would say is to use something that’s neutral so that it won’t be obvious if it shows through the moss. The florals came from Walmart.

I hope this inspired you to clean off the porch, pull out some flowers, and maybe even make a wreath!
